Last year, I signed up with Doobert to be a Handoff Photographer, but the stars never aligned for me to sign up for transport. Honey came along, and I was able to finally sign up! I was ecstatic… but then on the day before the transport, I saw that Honey was going to be stuck in Jasper, FL because no one had picked up that leg of the run yet.
So I did!
Were there any memorable moments from this transport?
Since this was my first transport, every moment was memorable. From the first time I saw Honey poke her face out of the door, to when she curled up in the foot-well of my backseat and fell asleep.
What could have made this transport better?
I have nothing to compare this transport to others, so I can’t say what could make this better.
Tell us about your passenger/s (behavior, demeanor, etc)?
Honey was very tiny for a Pointer, very meek, and very quiet. She never barked, heck, she never made a peep! After a walk, and we loaded her into my car, she fell asleep within minutes and stayed there until we got to our drop-off location.
Why did you take this transport, what compelled you to help?
I originally took this transport because I was able to use my photography skills and assist, but when I saw that Honey was at risk of being stuck in Jasper, I knew I needed to help. Jasper is very close to my home, and I saw no reason not to jump in and drive a dog home!
