Finding Partners on the Supply & Demand Map: The Complete Guide

We all know that the traditional way of finding partners for animal transfers is one heck of a challenge, especially if you’re already preoccupied with other rescue-related matters.

Who has the time to manually browse through Google search results and Facebook pages for organizations that have extra space for, say, 2 large German Shepherds, 3 puppies, and a litter of kittens right?

Follow the steps below and you’ll be a pro at finding and managing partners in no time!

 

Finding and Adding Partners

 

Step 1: Go to your Organization DashboardFinding Partners on Doobert: Finding and adding partners

Step 4: Click Find New PartnersFinding Partners on Doobert: Finding and adding partners

If you already have an organization in mind, you can simply enter their name. Finding Partners on Doobert: Finding and adding partners

To locate non-Doobert users, make sure to click the toggle switch button.Finding Partners on Doobert: Finding and adding partners

Another way to find partners is to provide your location and the types of animals that you’re able to transfer out or take in.Finding Partners on Doobert: Finding and adding partners

If you can’t find the animal you’re looking for, click on the toggle switch beside More to view more options.Finding Partners on Doobert: Finding and adding partners

You can choose to view your search results as a grid or on Doobert’s supply and demand map.Finding Partners on Doobert: Finding and adding partners

Managing Partners

Managing Animal Transport Requests

 

Step 1: Go to the Animals tab

Step 3: Click on Org Transfer Requests

Finding Animals to Transfer In

 

Step 1: Go to the Animals tab

Step 3: Click Find Animals

Below Animals to Transfer In, click Find Animals.Finding Partners on Doobert: Finding Animals to Transfer In

You can search for animals in a specific organization.Finding Partners on Doobert: Finding Animals to Transfer In

Or provide your location and information on your preferred animals.Finding Partners on Doobert: Finding Animals to Transfer In

If you want to, you can also limit the search to your partners’ or coalitions’ animals.Finding Partners on Doobert: Finding Animals to Transfer In

It’ll come back with all the animals that fit your search criteria. Once you find the animal that you want to transfer to your organization, click the Request Animal button.Finding Partners on Doobert: Finding Animals to Transfer In

 

Adding Animal Profiles

There are two ways that you can add animal profiles:

 

I. Choose from the options below Animal Profiles.

In the Animals tab, click the Add/Manage button and you’ll find Animal Profiles in the top section.Finding Partners on Doobert: Adding Animal Profiles

a. Quick Add – Lets you quickly add multiple animals.Finding Partners on Doobert: Adding Animal Profiles

b. Full Add – Allows you to create a more detailed animal profile.Finding Partners on Doobert: Adding Animal Profiles

c. Import/Upload – Lets you import existing animal profiles from other platforms.Finding Partners on Doobert: Adding Animal Profiles

 

II. Add new animal profiles while managing existing ones.

You’ll see the animals you’ve previously added and be able to indicate whether or not they’re available for transfer and/or adoption.Finding Partners on Doobert: Adding Animal Profiles

Managing Animal Transfers

When setting up your animal transfer settings, the number of animals you indicate available to be transferred or taken in will also show up on your organization’s pin information on the Doobert supply and demand map for other users to see.

The supply and demand map is updated every 3 hours, so any changes you make will automatically reflect on your pin information. Here’s how you set it up:

 

Step 1: Go to the Animals tab

Step 3: Click Manage Our Transfer Settings

After that, you’ll be taken to a page where you’ll be able to indicate the number and type of animals you can transfer out or in.Finding Partners on Doobert: Managing Animal Transfers

In the Able to Transfer Out section, you can either allow Doobert to automatically reflect the number of animals you’ve made available for transfers or enter the numbers manually.Finding Partners on Doobert: Managing Animal Transfers

In the Able to Transfer In section, you can choose between only displaying the number of animals you can take in or include additional details.Finding Partners on Doobert: Managing Animal Transfers

 

Setting Up Animal Profile Notifications

Did you know that you can actually set up email alerts for when specific animal profiles are created on Doobert? Just follow these steps:

 

Step 1: Go to the Animals tab

You’ll then be able to specify your location, limit notifications to your partners’ or coalitions’ animals…Finding Partners on Doobert: Setting Up Animal Profile Notifications

If you want to receive notifications for multiple animal types and breeds, just click on the Add More button and a new section will be added.Finding Partners on Doobert: Setting Up Animal Profile Notifications

Then, finalize everything by clicking Create Email Alerts. Now, instead of manually searching for animals, you can just sit back and wait for email notifications!Finding Partners on Doobert: Setting Up Animal Profile Notifications
