We all know that the traditional way of finding partners for animal transfers is one heck of a challenge, especially if you’re already preoccupied with other rescue-related matters.
Who has the time to manually browse through Google search results and Facebook pages for organizations that have extra space for, say, 2 large German Shepherds, 3 puppies, and a litter of kittens right?
And that’s exactly why we’ve developed a more convenient way for organizations like you to find partners on Doobert.
From finding organizations to work with to setting up email alerts for specific animal profiles, Doobert has you covered!
Follow the steps below and you’ll be a pro at finding and managing partners in no time!
Finding and Adding Partners
Step 1: Go to your Organization Dashboard
Step 2: Click on the Partners tab
Step 3: Click Search
Step 4: Click Find New Partners
If you already have an organization in mind, you can simply enter their name.
To locate non-Doobert users, make sure to click the toggle switch button.
Another way to find partners is to provide your location and the types of animals that you’re able to transfer out or take in.
If you can’t find the animal you’re looking for, click on the toggle switch beside More to view more options.
Next, click Search.
You can choose to view your search results as a grid or on Doobert’s supply and demand map.
On the grid view, click on the Add Partner button to add an organization to your list of partners.
Same thing with the supply and demand map; you’ll find an Add Partner button on the dialog box displaying the organization’s pin information.
Managing Partners
Step 1: Go to the Partners tab
Step 2: Click on the Search button
Step 3: Click Manage Our Partners.
You’ll then see your partners list and be able to view their available animals…
…and needed or available items.
Managing Animal Transport Requests
Step 1: Go to the Animals tab
On your Organization dashboard, click on the Animals tab.
Step 2: Click on the Add/Manage button
Step 3: Click on Org Transfer Requests
In the Manage Animal section, click on Org Transfer Requests.
You’ll then be able to view any transport requests for your animals.
Finding Animals to Transfer In
Step 1: Go to the Animals tab
On your Organization dashboard, click on the Animals tab.
Step 2: Click on the Search button
Step 3: Click Find Animals
Below Animals to Transfer In, click Find Animals.
You can search for animals in a specific organization.
Or provide your location and information on your preferred animals.
If you want to, you can also limit the search to your partners’ or coalitions’ animals.
After that, go ahead and click Search.
It’ll come back with all the animals that fit your search criteria. Once you find the animal that you want to transfer to your organization, click the Request Animal button.
Adding Animal Profiles
There are two ways that you can add animal profiles:
I. Choose from the options below Animal Profiles.
In the Animals tab, click the Add/Manage button and you’ll find Animal Profiles in the top section.
a. Quick Add – Lets you quickly add multiple animals.
b. Full Add – Allows you to create a more detailed animal profile.
c. Import/Upload – Lets you import existing animal profiles from other platforms.
II. Add new animal profiles while managing existing ones.
In the Manage Animals section, click on Animal Profiles.
You’ll see the animals you’ve previously added and be able to indicate whether or not they’re available for transfer and/or adoption.
On the upper right-hand side, you’ll find various options for adding animal profiles.
Managing Animal Transfers
When setting up your animal transfer settings, the number of animals you indicate available to be transferred or taken in will also show up on your organization’s pin information on the Doobert supply and demand map for other users to see.
The supply and demand map is updated every 3 hours, so any changes you make will automatically reflect on your pin information. Here’s how you set it up:
Step 1: Go to the Animals tab
On your Organization dashboard, click on the Animals tab.
Step 2: Click on the Add/Manage button
Step 3: Click Manage Our Transfer Settings
It’s the last option in the Manage Animal section.
After that, you’ll be taken to a page where you’ll be able to indicate the number and type of animals you can transfer out or in.
In the Able to Transfer Out section, you can either allow Doobert to automatically reflect the number of animals you’ve made available for transfers or enter the numbers manually.
In the Able to Transfer In section, you can choose between only displaying the number of animals you can take in or include additional details.
Setting Up Animal Profile Notifications
Did you know that you can actually set up email alerts for when specific animal profiles are created on Doobert? Just follow these steps:
Step 1: Go to the Animals tab
On your Organization dashboard, click on the Animals tab.
Step 2: Click on the Search button
Step 3: Click Manage Animal Notifications
You’ll then be able to specify your location, limit notifications to your partners’ or coalitions’ animals…
…and indicate the type and breed of the animal you want to be notified of.
If you want to receive notifications for multiple animal types and breeds, just click on the Add More button and a new section will be added.
Then, finalize everything by clicking Create Email Alerts. Now, instead of manually searching for animals, you can just sit back and wait for email notifications!
