Transporting dogs might help me lose weight!

I feel so fortunate to be a member of this family of folks who all feel the same way about animals as I do, and the crew that helped get Loretta to safety was no different. It’s awe-inspiring to see how everyone bonds over the couple of days it takes to transport a dog, talking to each other over email and/or texting and/or Messenger! So Loretta was charming every driver on every leg of her journey, but of course she was quite hungry by the time she got to me. I know it makes sense not to tempt fate by giving these pups big meals before or during a big transport day, but I always carry a couple little treats just to make them a little bit happier. But Loretta went through my couple of treats, and was still hungry. The funny thing is, I myself like to snack during a long drive. But every time I reached for the bag of people goodies, there would be a telltale “crinkle” and her face would pop up, and she would stare me down. Well, after a couple of tries to make less noise, and seeing that I was fooling her not one bit, I finally gave up on my people treats and drove the rest of the way without any more snacking. But hey, it ain’t all bad news; this could help me break my bad habit of “snacking and driving!” Thanks in advance, Loretta, for helping me lose a few pounds!

This was my first Doobert transport. All went very smoothly for Mom & pup. I used a large cage we have for our 90 lb. Airdale. The dogs slept peacefully during the whole trip from Braselton GA to Greenville SC. After the drop off I visited The Falls Park in downtown Greenville which is was a delightful surprise!
