Transports can be set up by either the sending or receiving party. As long as one of the programs is on Doobert they can submit the transport request.

Would program dogs be the only ones in the transport?

When your program submits the transport request, you’re choosing the dogs you want to be transported from your program.

How do overnights work for a longer transport?

This is up to each program for how they want to handle. Drivers who are qualified may be able to host the dog overnight or if a volunteer has a foster home profile and they have the proper environment and approved by the program, this is an option as well.

Absolutely not, Doobert is another tool in your toolbox. They allow the puppy raiser with a paid ticket to fly with the dog in the cabin free of charge. Contact Barrie & Alicia for more information.

Volunteer registration through your sign-up pages ends on November 23rd. No exceptions will be made so we have time to get them added to all program accounts as ADI Approved Volunteers.

How do my volunteers get signed up to participate?

Every participating program received its own unique sign-up page. Share your unique page with your volunteers & ask that they to sign up and create transport profiles. The deadline for sign-up is November 23rd, 2020 in order to participate in the first round of transports.

Yes! The goal of the program is to get more trained volunteers involved and helping the ADI programs to transport dogs to help more people! All volunteers who sign up on your unique sign-up page are considered ADI Approved Volunteers.

Are volunteer drivers screened?

Since the ADI Approved Volunteers have gone through some sort of training with their associated program and have been invited specifically by the participating programs, there is no additional screening that happens.

Yes. Anyone on Doobert who has a volunteer profile can search for available transports.

Absolutely, through email! Also found in your communication feed (found on the transport page, just above the list of individual legs & to the right of the “VIEW MAP” button).

Yes. In addition to ADI transports they will see transports that are submitted by Rescues and Shelters. It’s up to the volunteer to decide where they want to help.

Volunteers will be looking for the following naming convention: **ADI TRANSPORT** – Program Name + Unique Identifier

ie: **ADI TRANSPORT** – Guide Dog + New York, NY to Miami, FL or **ADI TRANSPORT** – Guide Dog + Sally

How long does it take for a transport to fill with volunteers?

It really depends on the distance, to/from locations and how many potential ADI Approved Volunteers are along the route and are willing to participate.

Absolutely! You can manually add legs to your relay transport OR simply adjust the length in the pop-up box after choosing “Auto-split into legs”

Unfortunately not at this time. This is part of a paid plan for the Rescues/Shelters that use Doobert. We will be overriding that for all ADI Programs so they are able to use. This may be something to consider in the future by the ADI team

Can we have a back-up driver in case someone has to cancel?

Unfortunately, there is nothing in the system to support this today. You’ll want to manage manually. This could be something to consider adding in the future.
