Navigating the Case Overview Page

You may be a bit overwhelmed when first seeing your Companion Case Management module. We are here to help and simplify things. In this tutorial, we will be showing you how the Case Overview page in the Companion Case Management module can make it incredibly easy for you to keep track of all your cases.

Click on the ‘Companion Case Management’ tab then click on ‘Dashboard’.

Once you’re on the case overview page, you’ll see 4 quadrants, Case Types, Animal Type, Case Status, and Team status. We’ll look into each quadrant below.

Case Types Quadrant

The Case Types quadrant is where you’ll be able to quickly view the types of cases that your organization is managing. When you log into the module for the first time. You’ll see that there are 6 case types already set by default.

Here’s how to customize your Case Types quadrant.

Step 1: Click ‘Manage Defaults’ link in the upper right corner.

Step 2: In the ‘New Case Defaults’ section, choose the ‘Case Type’ and ‘Case Status’ for every new case created.

Step 3: In the ‘Case Type Quadrant Defaults‘, select from the dropdown menu the types of cases that will be displayed on your Overview page.

Step 4: Type in the Default Radius so we know how far you would like your request to go when alerting Dooberteers.

Step 5: Set the configuration when you transfer a case. It can either be kept open or closed & archived.

Step 6: Select which information will be transferred by default for every transferred case.

Step 7: Click ‘Save’.

Animal Types Quadrant

This quadrant will tell you the types and the number of animals involved in the cases your organization is currently managing.

Case Status Quadrant

This quadrant will show you the number of cases you have and their corresponding status. This is also where you’ll see how many cases you’ve closed which are automatically archived. Take note that archived cases will not be included in the chart.

Team Status Quadrant

Lastly, we have the team status quadrant. Here, you’ll see the volunteers you’ve given access to your organization’s account to help you manage cases.

Step 1: To see all of your current volunteers and the cases assigned to each of them, click on ‘More Details’.

Step 2: On the ‘Team Status’ page, you will be able to see each volunteer’s tasks assigned to them by clicking the plus icon beside the name.

Step 3: To see more details about the case, click on the ‘Case Name’.

Step 4: You can also archive and delete the assigned cases by clicking the three-dot icon on the further right column.
